You can choose from different shapes, materials, and porosity. As the following three options.
• According to the shape of the ceramic filter
There are two kinds of straight-hole ceramic filters and foam ceramic filters. Generally choose foam ceramic ceramic filter.
• According to the material of the ceramic filter
There are alumina, silicon carbide, zirconia, etc.,. According to the technical indicators to select the appropriate ceramic filter model. The technical indicators include casting material, pouring temperature, continuous pouring time at high temperature, application range, etc.
• According to the pore size of the ceramic filter screen
Filter porosity also differs for ductile iron and grey iron. Let’s look at the details.
The ductile iron castings use 10 ~ 15 PPI ceramic filters generally. The gray iron castings use 10 ~ 20 PPI ceramic filters. Generally, there is less slag in the gray iron liquid, and gray iron castings use filters with smaller pore sizes.
Silicon carbide ceramic filters are available in iron casting. But the filter capacity for ductile iron and gray iron is also different. Below is the filter capacity for ductile iron and grey iron.
For gray iron, the capacity to filter molten iron per 1cm² is 4~6Kg generally. For ductile iron, the capacity to filter molten iron per 1cm² is 2~4Kg. The lower limit is usually taken for insurance.
The blocking section cannot be set on the ceramic filter. Some data show that the ceramic filter is suitable for setting in the open pouring system. Please try to avoid placing the ceramic filter in the closed pouring system.
